Many fallow lands have been put under cultivation through land development.  There has been increase in production of Vegetable in villages, Cash crops, Pulses production. More employment opportunity had created and annual income of the households has increased. The health and nutritional standard of families have also developed due to consumption of fresh vegetable.   The unemployed youths have income and employment through support of Economic activities and Organic farming development.

TRAINING OF FARMERS ON CULTIVATION

As the economy of tribal in target area is based on output from hill cultivation and forest including some other alternative livelihood options. Agriculture and forest, being important livelihood options, a significant proportion of tribal is engaged in such practices. Due to high slopes and lack of conservation measures, soil erosion is very high in such high lands, as such; the productivity of land and soil fertility has declined over the years. Reducing ecology and livelihood inter-relationship is spiraling down gradually with continued decrease in carrying capacity of the available natural resources in the area.

Looking to the above problems, our organization namely, PRABHAT organized training of farmers with the help of Agriculture Experts on cultivation, plantation techniques, and plant care of different vegetables, pulses, cereals, maize and millet plants.  The expert imparted training on land leveling, raising of seedlings, weeding and harvesting of plants.

PROMOTION OF KITCHEN GARDEN

Kitchen gardens or backyard gardens and nurseries have been initiated by PRABHAT to augment resources and improve access to food sources at the community-level. We encourage community members to undertake kitchen gardening as a viable income-generation activity. Trained staffs and Volunteers of PRABHAT facilitate the process, motivating the community on the benefits of kitchen gardening and providing information on the availability of seeds and saplings from various sources. At household-level, surplus vegetables (post-consumption) from the kitchen garden have generated a sizable additional income for poor household.  Presently 475 farmers are undertaken kitchen gardens at backyard of their households.
