Women’s Empowerment with the thrust of Women Self Help groups – the CBO partners
PRABHAT has been working to empower the rural women through organizing their collectives for financial inclusion and economic security, improving their skills as farmers by trainings, increase access to credit needs, information and access to land rights. Women Conventions are being organized which has created a platform for women to present their issues, experiences before policy makers and Government line departments. Initiatives of progressive and successful women are recognized which has encouraged other women.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAININGS
For development of skills among women to be self-employed, especially on income generation activities, PRABHAT has conducted number of skill up-gradation training for women self-help groups on processing and marketing of Non Timber Forest Produces (NTFP). With the support from NABARD, the organization has imparted Skill Development Training Programmes (SDP) and Micro Enterprise skill Development training (MEDP) continuously for a period of six years. They are now undertaking collection of NTFP and preparation of finished products as well as selling the produces in local markets. To enable them, organization had ensured financial linkage with Utkal Gramya Bank, Dangasorda and the State Bank of India, Hanumantpur. Also, the organization has ensured exposure visit of women SHGs to similar organizations to acquire knowledge and to fill the gaps in production in coordination with NABARD, Rayagada.
